Come and meet the team that help make Pendle Heritage Centre everything it is today.

Michael Bannister

Michael Bannister is the incredibly inspirational and energetic trustee of Pendle Heritage Centre.  His family were once the owners at Park Hill.  As well as injecting business savvy into our Board of Trustees, Michael is the founder of Boundary Mill and The Coniston Estate.

John Miller

Without our founder, John Miller, Pendle Heritage Centre wouldn't exist. Over 40 years ago, he took the run-down complex of buildings and worked with diverse agencies and prominent figures in both architectural history and garden design to build up the Centre and its collection as we know it today.  Now retired, John is still an active consultant for the Trust, on a voluntary basis.

Angela White

Angela White is Centre Manager at Pendle Heritage Centre and is known as the Queen of the Five Star Review on Facebook.  Relentlessly busy, fiercely well organised and good with people, she is appreciated by us all, but especially by nervous brides and grooms seeking reassurance about their big day.

Peter Aldred

Peter is a year-round fixture at The Heritage Centre, whatever the weather!  He is our Head Gardener and ensures there is always something to enjoy in our gardens throughout the year.

Sarah Cockburn-Price

Sarah is chairman of our Board of Trustees.  A Borough and Town councillor with a background in architectural history and archaeology, she is drawing on her professional marketing knowledge to bring Pendle Heritage Centre to a wider audience.

Hugh Simpson

Hugh, our hardworking secretary, is a former senior officer with Burnley Council.  As well as his role with us, he is also Chair of the Higherford Residents’ Association.  A lover of the great outdoors, he’s even keener on his grandchildren whom he sees often.

John Drury

Ensuring the Pendle Heritage Trust complies with all accounts and charitable best practice, John is a former accountant with Grant Thornton.  For many years he was a trustee at the Lancashire Wildlife Trust and has recently joined us to beef up our financial expertise.
